We're open at Melrose Central. New store, same coffee, and a spot we're genuinely pleased with — right at the lower ground entrance, next to Dan Murphy's, directly in front of the future light rail stop, with outdoor seating and enough room to actually sit down for a while.
Where to find us
Chambers Melrose Park sits on the lower ground level, at the entrance point beside Dan Murphy's. If you're coming in from the car park, you'll walk straight past us — there's no hunting through levels or checking a directory board.
That position was deliberate. It's the natural in-and-out point of the centre, which makes us easy to build into whatever you're already doing: coffee before the shop, coffee after, or coffee instead of the shop entirely.
We're also sitting directly in front of where the Parramatta Light Rail stop will be. That's still to come — but when it arrives, we'll be the first thing you see stepping off the tram, and the last stop before you get back on.

The 6:30am weekday start is for the early crowd — if you're heading out before the centre properly wakes up, we're already going.
Parking is straightforward. Car park entry is via Hope Street, and the centre offers two hours free — more than enough for a coffee and a wander.
The outdoor seating
This is the part we're most happy about. Plenty of shopping centre cafes give you a counter and a queue. We've got proper outdoor seating — the kind of place you can sit for forty minutes without feeling like you're in the way.
It works for the things people actually use a cafe for:
- Catching up. Somewhere to meet a friend that isn't a food court table.
- Grab and go. Straight in from the car park, coffee, straight back out.
- Just sitting. A break in the middle of errands, or a quiet twenty minutes with a flat white before the day starts properly.
Being at the entrance means it's open and airy rather than tucked into a corridor — you get the light and the passing life of the centre without the enclosed feeling of being deep inside a mall.
What Melrose Central actually is
If you haven't been yet, it's worth understanding the scale of the place. Melrose Central is a 30,000sqm town centre across four levels, developed by Deicorp, with somewhere around 100 retailers.
The essentials are all there — a full-line Coles, Dan Murphy's, a pharmacy, a medical centre, a Korean supermarket and bakery, plus boutique grocers. There's a wellbeing hub with a gym, pilates and recovery facilities, and an early learning centre on level 1.
The headline act is the Asian-inspired street food precinct: more than 4,700sqm of it, drawing on the food streets of Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul and Singapore. To put that in perspective, it's around three times the size of Burwood Chinatown. It's the reason a lot of people will make the trip from outside the area.
And this is a suburb in the middle of becoming something. The wider Melrose Park redevelopment is a multi-billion-dollar project delivering thousands of new homes, with new parkland going in alongside. The light rail stop planned for our doorstep is part of Stage 2 of the Parramatta Light Rail, which will run a new bridge over the Parramatta River through to Wentworth Point and Sydney Olympic Park. Major construction on that extension is slated to begin in 2027 — so it's a few years off yet, but it tells you exactly where this area is heading, and why we wanted this corner.
What we're pouring
The same coffee as every other Chambers. Our house espresso is roasted in Sydney and delivered fresh to each store, so what you get at Melrose Park is what you'd get at Haymarket or Gateway.
If you like a sweeter, more approachable cup, ask for Almond Blossom. If you take milk and want something darker with more chocolate to it, Starry Night is the one — it's what most of our flat white drinkers land on.
Beyond coffee, the full range is on: chai lattes, matcha, turmeric lattes, and our drinking chocolate — which is the proper cafe-grade stuff, not the sweet supermarket version.
